Archive for June, 2008

So the Chaos is over.  It was a lot of fun but I am ready for some summer holidays! Thanks so much to everyone who came by to see us! It was great to meet some of you in person for the first time too!

This week I have been madly trying to get the online store restocked, since I pulled everything for the show. My apologies if you were trying to shop in my site this week…wouldn’t have had much luck! I added some handbags tonight and I am planning to add a few things a day for the next week or so to get caught up. I need to find some 3-5 year old girls to model for my dresses and sweater pants before I can properly list those though. (If you have some and are local give me a call!)  Stella can do quite a few of them, but she gets cranky after the 15th hat and/or outfit….(I can’t imagine why!)

Also in shopping news this week is the opening of The Breeze Gold and Gallery in Quesnel by Stan Krumm, a local goldsmith. The gallery part is a mix of art, pottery and jewelry made by local artists and they are going to carry my handbags as well! I am very excited about this, since it means I can still have things available locally, even though I had to close my shop. The grand opening is on Friday June 13 from 6-9pm and it is located at 328 Reid St. I am going to try to make an appearance, and I think some of the other artists are going to be there as well. (Oh…and food too! hehe) If you don’t make it down tommorrow though, I think they are open Tuesday – Saturdays. I think this is a really great thing for Quesnel and I am so glad that Stan has had the vision for it. Yay Stan!

It has been a total blur, but the end is in sight. One last day of packing up tommorrow and then we are on our way to Vernon. I am really excited about the show, it being my first big show and all. I am looking forward to seeing some old and new friends at the show too! You know who you are.

This month was also the last at my little shop, which is bittersweet for me. My mom, who has been a huge support of my business and was basically my shop manager for the past year, isn’t able to continue with it, and since I can’t do it without her I felt it was time to close the door on that particular aspect of my business. However…onward and upward as they say, I have big plans for other things including things like this show, my online shop  (which is empty now because of Creative Chaos) and a few other things. I will keep you posted as they start to unfold.

So friends, on the one year anniversary of my little business I want to say a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported me. As a creative person the things I make are a part of me, and it so warms my heart to see my dresses and bags walking around on cute little girls, or on someone’s shoulder and being obviously enjoyed and loved.  Thank you!!!!

Peace

amy
